10 Things To Do Instead of Netflixing

Hey guys! Before we get started, here's a little disclaimer: I cannot live without Netflix. It is the most wonderful thing that's ever happened to the internet. So since I am evidently addicted to it, as I'm sure some of you are, I thought I'd make a list of 10 activities more productive and better for your overall sanity than Netflix. (Disclaimer: This list is as much directed at you as it is directed at myself so some of these might be a little specific to my own life.)

  1. Finish your homework. There’s always that one little assignment you forget to do and have to finish at midnight/on your way to school. Don’t Netflix until you’ve made sure your homework planner is all clear.

  2. Clean your room. You know that mess your mom has been bothering you about for three days? Well just tidy it up now and the complaining will stop!

  3. Go play with your little sibling or pet (or imaginary friend if you’re into that). I know it seems like you pay them enough attention, but you probably don’t. All you need is 10 or 15 minutes and you’ll be just a little closer than you were before.

  4. Make lunch for tomorrow. This way, you’ll be way less rushed in the morning. If you don’t have school or work the next day, bake something delicious for your friends or family instead!

  5. If you have a blog or youtube channel*, make a bunch of posts/videos for later, so that when you’re busy with school or out of ideas, all you have to do is click “post” and voila!

  6. Study for the ACT/SAT. Okay, I know this is probably completely irrelevant for a lot you lucky people, so instead, get ahead in your homework. This way, if you’re ever busy on a weeknight, you won’t have to worry about completing (at least some of) your assignments.

  7. Plan your school/work outfit the night before. Again, you’ll have a lot more time in the morning and might even be able to sneak in an extra few minutes of sleep if you’re lucky!

  8. Take a bath, put on a face mask, or do your nails…pretty much just all the most relaxing parts of your beauty regime that you always seem to run out of time for.

  9. Clean your makeup brushes, and in fact just organize all of your makeup. Yes, I know that every girl dreads this tedious task but do it! It’s not only good for your skin but also for your sanity.

  10. READ. Wow, who knew that books were still a thing. Well, they are and you better get some before you go completely blind from all the technology you (and I) stare at all day.

*I might be starting a youtube channel sometime soon! Let me know if that's something that you guys would be interested in seeing!
